Preben is a European Patent Attorney and has a thorough understanding of patents. He has experience working with patents both as inventor, external patent counsel and as inhouse patent agent in a company with significant research activities. He has experience with tasks such as patentability evaluations, drafting and prosecution of patent applications, oppositions, Freedom to operate analysis, infringement evaluations and patent litigation. And further, experience in establishing an IP strategy that supports the business strategy of the company.

He has also experience in how you can organize and operate patent activities in an organization comprising inventors from different countries with different patent laws and patent traditions.

Preben has mainly worked within biotechnology and Life sciences, in particular within Molecular biology, patenting of enzymes, microorganisms and fermentation technology, and has further knowledge in the pharmaceutical area including patent term extensions such as SPCs.

Preben has previously worked extensively with patenting in China and has among other activities been involved in patent litigations in several instances all to way up to the Supreme Peoples Court in China.
